Happy 4th of July

Whether you’re planning on spending the holiday weekend grilling with friends, spending some extra time with family, or heading out to see some pyrotechnics, the 4th of July provides us all with a chance to reflect on the incredible freedom that comes with independence.

There is no doubt that there is work to be done for America to become a more perfect union. Progress towards equity, justice, and freedom for all are goals to which the country and its people are devoted.

Thanks to our independence, Americans have the freedom to work together towards the rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for all, free of interference from a meddling foreign power.

The Irish people have long been denied essential justice, liberty, equality, and rights to do the same. The same political bands in which we were once entangled continue to limit Ireland's potential. It is past time for a reunified, independent Ireland.

This 4th of July, let’s celebrate American independence and redouble our efforts to ensure our Irish brothers and sisters will soon be celebrating theirs.
