Happy Birthday to our good friend Gerry Adams. In 1994 with the support of Irish American, Gerry Adams was granted a visa to visit the US.

In a whirlwind visit he briefed Irish American and political leaders on the potential for peace and progress. And the rest as they say is history.

Following that visit Friends of Sinn Féin was established to promote the cause of peace, unity, and justice in Ireland.

Much has changed since then but we have further to travel.

As Gerry said last year, “You could be the first generation of Irish Americans to visit a new and united Ireland”

So happy 73rd birthday Gerry and we hope to see you back in the US or even better meet you in a united Ireland.
