This Sunday, October 3rd a special day of events has been planned in Philadelphia to mark the 40th Anniversary of the ending of the 1981 Hunger Strikes.

The event will run between 2.00 pm and 6.00 pm in the Commodore John Barry Arts and Cultural Centre.

The day will include a tribute to each of the Hunger Strikers and music by the “Spirit of 16” and others.

Support this great event and learn about the conditions in the Long Kesh jail, the lives of the Hunger Strikers, and the reaction in the US.

The events of 1981 changed the course of Irish History.
