Preparations for St. Patrick’s Day Continue

Following on the success of the visit by Sinn Féin President Mary Lou McDonald in December to the US plans are at an advanced stage for a St. Patrick’s trip.

This time Mary Lou McDonald will be accompanied by the Sinn Féin Vice President and former deputy First Minister in the government of the North of Ireland, Michelle O’Neill.

An election is set for the beginning of May which could well see Sinn Féin returned as the largest party and Michelle elected as the First Minister.

This trip will be an opportunity for the leadership of Sinn Féin to meet with political and community leaders in New York and Washington.

The Sinn Féin leaders will detail to opportunities to build a new and united Ireland and the challenges to the Good Friday Agreement from the British Government and Unionism.
