Today in 1981 the Hunger Strike Ended and a New Chapter Had Yet to be Written.


The ending of the Hunger was not the end of the prison campaign. The prisoners would go on to win their five demands and much more.


The support for the Irish Republican position grew and a new dynamic developed. All the cost of the lives of 10 Irish patriots in Long Kesh and many more on the streets outside.


Ireland and the struggle for Irish Unity were changed forever.
